May’s Newsletter

Our newsletter this month contains information on how we are keeping in touch with everyone during these difficult and unusual times. We even mention this very Blog!

You can also find out about some of the varied collections that are kept in the Archives. There is the Beverley Voluntary Service Hospital Helps scrapbook from the 1940s, which was compiled by Miss Madge Whiteing, a member of the Beverley WVS. (Reference DDX294/1).

Read about the Red Cross branch for Hull and East Riding. This collection consists of records donated by Miss Ivy Whiting which gives a personal take on the work the Charity does. (Reference DDX2149).

Adjusting to our new ‘normal’ – Work From Home (WFH)

So many records so many places‘ is the title of the article about  the hundreds of records from the some of the more than fifty local authorities that are still being catalogued.

We also commemorate VE day, whose 75th anniversary is on 8th May 2020.

Furthermore, there is a quiz to complete and a code to decipher!

If this has whetted your appetite just go to Get the newsletter and subscribe!
