On Saturday, 13th September 2025, East Riding Archives brought our ‘Archiverse Minecraft’ activity to East Riding Leisure Bridlington as part of the Heritage Open Days festival.
This year’s theme, Architecture, inspired us to delve into our collections for Bridlington-related building plans and photographs. These served as creative prompts for participants to recreate historic structures within our growing Archiverse world in the Minecraft videogame.
Well done to all our participants on their fantastic builds! Have a look at what went on during our event:
Spotlight on some Bridlington builds:

The East Riding Archiverse is a fun, educational world created in the ‘Minecraft: Education Edition’ videogame where young people can explore a virtual reconstruction of the East Riding Archives and share their lived experiences with others. Each built and written story crafted in the ‘Archiverse’ is added to the real-world archives as a historical record, making each young person a history maker!
